Helping people who are homeless to see a GP

Every day people contact us because they are unable to register with a GP in Kent.

We regularly hear from people who are homeless, who have been turned away from GP surgeries because they have no fixed address. You don't need a permanent address to be able to register with a GP, so we took these stories to the Integrated Care Board who commission GP services.

Thanks to us

The Integrated Care Board have spoken directly to the GP practices to ensure that they understand the rules around registering patients who don't have a fixed address. They have also been asked to update their policies on their websites to make it clearer to people what they can expect when they want to register at the practice.

Keep telling us your stories
