What did people from Folkestone tell us?

Last month we visited Folkestone & Hythe District Council to talk to their staff about their experiences of local health & social care services. We met 230 people in total during our visit.

Summary

We met 230 people in total during our visit. 41% of people shared negative stories about getting an appointment with their GP. 15% of people we spoke to talked about struggling to get a GP appointment. Here’s just one example;

“My father is dying from cancer and we’ve had a letter through but it doesn’t say what it is for. Does he really need it? Is it worth the physical effort for him to attend the appointment?”

You can read all the details in our report which we have also shared with local organisations who provide local health and social care in Folkestone to help them improve their services.
