Part of a winning team!

We've been working with a team of people and organisations to improve the NHS 111 service. That team has won the Partnership Award at the national Health Service Journal annual awards ceremony.

We’ve been working with Medway & Swale ICP for six years now to help develop, shape and deliver the new Direct Access Booking service as part of the enhanced 111 system.

Our volunteers, Lyn & John, have been part of the team since the very beginning; working on the procurement and helping to ensure the public have been involved and informed about the new service despite the obstacles of the pandemic. They continue to be at the forefront of discussions and monitoring the performance of the new service.

We’ve been involved from the very start which was six years ago as Healthwatch reps, and we’ve become the go-to people for their discussions about involving patients and listening to peoples’ views. We feel respected and welcomed. We’re proud of what we’ve achieved and it’s brilliant that the whole team as been recognised with an award.

Lyn & John Gallimore, Healthwatch Kent volunteers

The award recognises the hard work and commitment from a wide range of people and organisations that have come together to create and evolve the new NHS 111 service which launched during the pandemic.

Congratulations to everyone involved!
